The Meditation Stool is a great alternative for people who find sitting in the Seiza, Lotus or Half Lotus positions for extended periods is simply uncomfortable or impossible. The stool helps you achieve the benefits of meditation by helping you sit comfortably with your weight distributed equally across your sit bones, with your back and head in alignment. Some Taoist masters recommend that you sit on a backless chair to achieve this position. Our stool enables this posture, promoting steady deep breathing and a calm mind for the duration of your session.

The stool, crafted in Vietnam for Dharma Exim Corp., measures 15" high, and is roughly 18" in diameter across the sitting area, but has a slightly smaller diameter at the base to accommodate the user's feet. The frame is made of rattan and the thin, firm cushion is permanent, held in place by cane weaving.
